Hotels
There are two superior Hotels with wonderful locations and quality restaurants offering outstanding cuisine in the Kilchrenan area. Ardanaiseig ( 01866 833333, www.ardanaiseig.com ) is a fine, imposing mansion in the style of Robert Adam and dating from the 1830s. It also has beautiful loch-side gardens and grounds. |

The other, which also has a delightful loch-side setting, is the Taychreggan Hotel, ( 01866 833211, www.taychregganhotel.co.uk) , which was previously a drovers inn ( now substantially extended ) located at the narrowest part of the Loch to, historically, facilitate its crossing to Portsonachan and the markets beyond. The Transatlantic Cable, which runs through the village,was laid across at this point in 1955 in an age before satellite communications. |

Guest Houses
There are two quality Guest Houses in Kilchrenan, namely Roineabhal Country House and Sithe Mor House. Roineabhal (www.roineabhal.com ), which is close to the village centre in a peaceful location has a four star rating, offers luxury B & B, excellent, imaginative quality cuisine and is within walking distance of the pub. Sithe Mor House (www.sithemor.com ) is a Scottish Baronial style house dating from 1875 beautifully located on the shores of Loch Awe and is a Wolseley Lodge. It also offers luxury, atmospheric, antique laden accommodation and quality B & B with supper or dinner options. |
Bed & Breakfast
There are also two B & B establishments in the Kilchrenan area: Collaig House ( www.collaig-house.co.uk ), which is just outside the village in a charming rural setting enjoying excellent Loch views. Recently re-furbished it offers luxury B & B and evening meals if required, by prior arrangement. Innisfree ( www.innisfreebb.co.uk ) is a working croft on the fringe of the village in a delightful location with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. It offers home from home B & B with a very high and long-established reputation. |
