We are hoping to start more of the above fairly soon with a new tutor. He is able to offer us a choice of classes, either Tai Chi, Body Based Aerobics or Steps. They will be on Thursday evenings from 6.30- 7.30pm probably after Country Dancing has finished at Easter.
Would anyone interested please contact either Jane Stewart 833261 or Clare Gilbert 833238 and let us know what your exercise preference would be and we will go with the majority. To enable us to get things organised we would appreciate a reply as soon as possible - next week would be good!

The organiser is Gela Rose, tel. 01866 833210 with fun, but expert, tuition from Jean Campbell from Taynuilt. No previous experience or special garb necessary. Steel toe-caps and a sense of humour are however understood to be advantageous.

Table Tennis: Sunday afternoons, normally 5-7p.m. but contact organiser Mike Urwin for details, tel 01866 833341. This is a fun event for both adults and children but it is recommended that your eye-level should at the very least coincide with the top edge of the tables. No shin-pads or boxes required, unless you are playing Mike.

Educational / Special Interest Classes : These are continuing in October, start on 25th with a day-time Computer Course, from 10.30a.m to 12.30p.m. Places are limited to eight persons and are available on a first come first served basis. Please contact Flora Winter on 01866 833263.

Interruption of Power Supplies.

These are an inconvenience for everyone and whilst we can all take certain steps to mitigate the effects of them those primarily at risk are the elderly, and in particular people living alone.
We are a relatively small and caring community and it is hoped that any potentially vulnerable individuals would have nearby family, friends or neighbours who would come to their assistance. If you are one of these individuals but have no such help, or perhaps more importantly, you know of someone who might require some assistance, perhaps you could offer help. A useful point of contact could also be your Community Council Members who are fully listed on this site. Constable David Paterson has also kindly confirmed that the police would be happy to help anyone needing urgent assistance, Tel: 01866 822222 or 01631 510500.

Kilchrenan Village Hall 50/50 Draw.

The cost is still only £12.00 for the year and you can join any time by paying a proportion of this sum for the remaining months. The year runs from March to February. You can have more than one number and you do not need to be a resident in the area to join.
Payment can be made by cheque (payable to Kilchrenan Hall 50/50 A/c) or cash, and handed or posted to any member of the Hall Council. Collection can also be arranged.
The draw takes place monthly in the Kilchrenan Inn. The first prize is £30.00, second prize £20.00 and third prize £10.00.
Your contacts are Mike and Anne Urwin on 01866 833341, or any member of the Hall Council.

Articles...

Community Web-site.
It is intended to introduce a section to be called Family Notices/Where are they now?. As the name implies anyone wishing to place a notice relating to one of their family’s achievements of any type, academic or otherwise, might wish to make an announcement (with or without photograph) similar to those often seen in the newspapers. The section could also embrace locals who have moved away from the area to a new life or made an interesting career change, or, career advance. It could also refer to an interesting or light-hearted incident.
This section may be of particular relevance to former pupils of Dalavich or Kilchrenan Schools.
Anyone wishing to contribute please contact Peter Carruthers at pandpcarruthers@btinternet.com or hand it into the school.

Items for sale or required.

If you live within the community and have anything you wish to dispose of (legally!) or acquire this section may be of help. Prepare a brief description of the item, with or without a photo, and submit it to items@avich-kilchrenan.co.uk
There is no charge but it is hoped that successful vendors/purchasers might make a small donation towards running costs, at their discretion. Swaps can also be included, but to be restricted to inanimate objects please! You may even wish to give something away you no longer need to a good home. Find a place for your old banger!
Items will be deleted after a month or so unless instructions are received to the contrary to retain the item on the page although it is hoped that individuals will report as soon as an item is no longer available, or required.
